Muzdalifah is an open, sacred plain located between Arafat and Mina, where Hajj pilgrims spend the night after completing their time in Arafat on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah. This site is an essential part of the Hajj pilgrimage, as it serves as a place for worship, rest, and the collection of pebbles for the stoning ritual (Ramy al-Jamarat) in Mina.

  • Location: Between Arafat and Mina, about 7 km west of Arafat.
  • Significance: A place where the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) prayed and rested, following the command of Allah in the Quran.
  • Main Rituals: Pilgrims spend the night under the open sky, offering Maghrib and Isha prayers together, and collecting pebbles for the next day's stoning of the Jamarat in Mina.
  • No Shelters or Tents: Unlike Mina, Muzdalifah has no tents, and pilgrims sleep in the open, symbolizing humility and unity before Allah.
